Our 2009-10 Session is beginning on July 9th and that's less than two weeks. I implore all interested players to find a team soon or you'll be left out. There are many interested players especially from the Katy area who have come to us wanting to join our league. Many teams have formed and some are needing players. Lets work diligently in getting these teams put together so we can begin our season on a sound note.
Over the past three seasons we have given away two pool tables and at least ten pool sticks (see below) and the past few seasons we have sent five of our teams to Las Vegas each season. We have cash awards and plaques that are given away to not only many categories for shooting, but voted categories such as sportsmanship and even the "most fun team to play" along with several other awards and prizes. This year we plan to send half our teams to Vegas once again and one of those teams will get there at season's end by blind draw. This means, if you do not make the cut, we'll select out of a hat a team that will join all the other teams in Vegas so you literally have an equal chance with the other teams that didn't make the top. PLUS our fair scoring system gives opportunity for not-so-strong teams that may not be powerhouses that win in other leagues. Last season, our 7th and 10th highest scoring teams took 4th and 5th places and went to Vegas, so the opportunity is certainly there unlike in any other league.

The scoring system page is an in-depth discussion of how it works and why it works and how it creates fair play and eliminates sandbagging. Then there is a page from our Vegas trip last year and during the season, I will create one from our Vegas trip THIS year for everyone to check out. I took much better pictures this year. I'll also be updating all of the award winners from last season. Because of the time I had to spend recruiting this season, I was unable to do so. There's a window of opportunity when we come back from Vegas that I spend recruiting and I went to Vegas just 2 days after our Awards Night, so I have been unable to update that. But the last two seasons' award winners along with league records will be updated sometime during the first quarter of the season for everyone to see as I update this season's records every week.

We gave away this pool table this past season (from U.S. Billiards)- U.S. Billiards has expressed interest in sponsoring us again this season and if they do we'll give away another pool table again along with several pool sticks. Our league has given away at least 10 pool sticks over the past three seasons most valued between $150 and $300 to players for certain awards. We gave away sticks to the top female player over the past three seasons including a Lucasi. We gave away pool sticks to our sportsmanship award winner over the past three seasons also including a Lucasi. We also had our top player play our lowest player in a traditional game at our awards ceremony over the past two seasons in a surprise match and the winners of those games got a pool stick. Both seasons the low-end player won the pool stick, so we'll see what happens this year.
